The chapter retold

Catelyn rides to meet her son's assembled host at Moat Cailin, the ancient Stark stronghold guarding the causeway into the North, prepared ÔÇö as any mother would be ÔÇö to send Robb home rather than let a fifteen-year-old lead an army south into a war against the most powerful house in the Seven Kingdoms. Instead, seeing the lords who have already sworn themselves to him and the momentum a retreat now would cost, she does something harder: she stays, and teaches her son how to actually use the one advantage his youth and his army's speed can buy him, rather than trying to protect him out of the war altogether.

It's a striking pivot for Catelyn, whose instincts throughout the book have run toward caution and family preservation above all else ÔÇö here, faced with a fight she cannot stop, she chooses to make her son better at it rather than trying to talk him out of it. The 'one throw of the dice' framing she gives him becomes the guiding logic behind the boldest and most successful military gamble of the whole war, one that neither Robb nor Catelyn could have pulled off without the other's particular strengths.
