House Blacktyde
Lords of the island of Blacktyde, unusual among the ironborn for having set aside the Drowned God for the Faith of the Seven ÔÇö and unusual again for what it cost them.
The fuller tale
House Blacktyde holds its own black island in the north of the archipelago, and its lord in the recent tale, Baelor Blacktyde, is a rarity: an ironborn who spent years as a hostage in the green lands, came home a follower of the Seven, and cut his hair and put aside the old reaving ways. Among the salt-lords, that made him a soft and suspect figure.
Baelor stood against Euron Greyjoy at the kingsmoot and paid for it. Euron is not a man who forgives opposition, and the fate the Crow's Eye handed the pious lord of Blacktyde was a warning to every other captain who might think of crossing him ÔÇö a reminder that on the Iron Islands the old god is still very much in charge.
