House Massey
A knightly house seated at Stonedance on Massey's Hook, the long claw of land that reaches out toward Dragonstone.
The fuller tale
House Massey gives its name to Massey's Hook itself, and its castle of Stonedance guards that stretch of coast on the approaches to Blackwater Bay. In the present day the house's most vivid figure is Ser Justin Massey ÔÇö a smooth, smiling, fair-haired knight who attaches himself to Stannis Baratheon's cause and proves as ambitious as he is charming. Stannis trusts him enough to send him east to Braavos, to buy sellswords with the promise of the Iron Bank's gold and, if it comes to it, to secure the king's heir.
It is a fitting errand for a Massey: a house of the narrow coast, comfortable moving between Westeros and the merchant powers across the water, playing the long and slippery game of loyalty and advantage.
