The fuller tale

The Merlyns hold Pebbleton on Great Wyk, and Lord Meldred Merlyn ÔÇö Quellon, to his fellow captains ÔÇö commands a respectable fleet, enough that his voice carries at a gathering of the salt-lords. Their green sigil marks a house grown fat, by ironborn standards, on the reaving trade.

Like the other captains of Great Wyk, the Merlyns rise and fall with the fortunes of whoever sits the Seastone Chair, sending their ships out to reave when the reaving is good and their heads down when the drowned god's chosen turns jealous.
