House Umber
The giant-blooded lords of Last Hearth in the farthest north, great drinkers and greater fighters, among the fiercest of the Starks' bannermen.
The fuller tale
House Umber holds Last Hearth in the cold northeastern corner of the North, closest of the great houses to the Wall, and the Umbers are built to match their country: huge, loud, hard-drinking men who claim giant's blood and mostly look the part. Their sigil is a roaring giant breaking his chains.
The Greatjon, Lord Umber, was among the loudest to hail Robb Stark King in the North ÔÇö after first losing two fingers to Robb's direwolf for drawing steel at the table, then laughing about it. But the far north is exposed, and by the war of the dead the Umbers were split and broken, some bending to the Boltons, the last of the line a small boy whose fate at Last Hearth became one of the grimmest omens of the coming winter.
