The fuller tale

House Wyl guards the Boneway, the eastern mountain road into Dorne, and has spent its whole history bleeding the stormlanders and Reachmen who tried to force it. The house's name is a byword for cruelty in the marches thanks to one ancestor, remembered only as the Wyl of Wyl, whose atrocities against captured knights and their families the songs of the Reach still curse.

A hard road makes hard lords, and the Wyls have never much cared what their neighbours to the north think of them ÔÇö the Boneway has swallowed a great many invading hosts, and a house that holds it need not be loved.
