Bronzegate
A bronze-gated castle on the road from King's Landing to Storm's End.
The fuller tale
Bronzegate takes its name from the ancient bronze-bound gates in its walls, said to be older than the castle around them, and House Buckler has kept both on the road from the capital to Storm's End since the Storm Kings ruled. It is the classic seat of the second rank ÔÇö strong enough to matter, never strong enough to be the story ÔÇö and its lords have made a craft of that station: Bucklers ride in every Baratheon host, hold the door in every Baratheon retreat, and appear in the histories almost exclusively in lists of the loyal. In the tale their banners follow Renly's crown and then Stannis's cause, absorbing the era's defeats with the patience of a house whose gates have been promising, in bronze, to outlast everything, and so far keeping their word.
The fallen of this place ÔÇö if any, they are named here. Spoilers.
No death the chronicle records has come to this ground ÔÇö or none the maesters have set down.
