Cornfield

The Swyfts' seat amid the southern fields of the West.

The fuller tale

Cornfield sits amid the southern fields of the west, seat of House Swyft and its blue bantam rooster — a small proud bird for a small careful house. The Swyfts’ place in the story is Ser Harys: goodfather to Kevan Lannister, held hostage by his own liege in the bad old days for his lord’s debts, and elevated in the war’s aftermath to offices several sizes too large for him. The realm laughs at Harys Swyft, and the Swyfts bank the offices anyway — Cornfield’s quiet thesis being that in the lions’ country, proximity compounds better than pride.

The fallen of this place — if any, they are named here. Spoilers.

No death the chronicle records has come to this ground — or none the maesters have set down.
