Cornfield sits amid the southern fields of the west, seat of House Swyft and its blue bantam rooster ÔÇö a small proud bird for a small careful house. The SwyftsÔÇÖ place in the story is Ser Harys: goodfather to Kevan Lannister, held hostage by his own liege in the bad old days for his lordÔÇÖs debts, and elevated in the warÔÇÖs aftermath to offices several sizes too large for him. The realm laughs at Harys Swyft, and the Swyfts bank the offices anyway ÔÇö CornfieldÔÇÖs quiet thesis being that in the lionsÔÇÖ country, proximity compounds better than pride.
