Ghost Hill
A chalk-white hill seat above the Sea of Dorne.
The fuller tale
Ghost Hill rises chalk-white above the Sea of Dorne, and House Toland flies over it the strangest banner in the principality: a green dragon devouring its own tail. The arms are a jape three centuries old ÔÇö during the Conquest, the tale runs, the Lord Toland sent his champion out to face Aegon the Conqueror in single combat, and the dragon king killed the man before learning he was the castle's fool, sent to make exactly the point the Tolands then fixed in their heraldry: the dragon chases itself, time devours its own works, and Dorne can wait. The hill's name is older, kept for the ghost said to walk the white keep, and the Tolands, who have buried a fool and outlasted a dynasty, see no reason to evict either the ghost or the joke. In the books the house's ladies stand close in Sunspear's councils when the long game finally quickens ÔÇö patience, at Ghost Hill, being both the sigil and the strategy.
The fallen of this place ÔÇö if any, they are named here. Spoilers.
