Grassy Vale
Seat of House Meadows
A green seat at the eastern edge of the Reach.
The fuller tale
Grassy Vale lies at the eastern edge of the Reach where the Mander is young and the border with the stormlands is a matter of opinion, and House Meadows has held it through centuries of that opinion being tested. The name is the least ambitious in Westerosi heraldry and entirely accurate: good grass, fat cattle, a river ford, and lords whose highest boast is that their lands have fed armies they wisely declined to join. In the war years the seat does what the eastern Reach always does ÔÇö musters its levies for Highgarden's cause and prays the fighting stays on somebody else's grass. Mostly, it does.
The fallen of this place ÔÇö if any, they are named here. Spoilers.
No death the chronicle records has come to this ground ÔÇö or none the maesters have set down.
