Long Table
A seat famed for its groaning boards and generous lords.
The fuller tale
Long Table sits on the Mander with a name that is a standing dinner invitation, and House Merryweather has spent generations making sure nobody declines ÔÇö the groaning boards of Long Table are proverbial in a region that takes feasting seriously as both art and policy. The family's fortunes track the risks of their chosen craft, pleasing the powerful: a Merryweather Hand once paid for a king's failures with exile, and the books bring the house back to court a generation later, the lord amiable at the council table and his Myrish lady rather closer to the queen's ear than is entirely safe for anyone involved. Long Table's lesson is its own furniture ÔÇö at the realm's feasts, it matters enormously which end of the table you are seated at, and the Merryweathers have sat at both.
The fallen of this place ÔÇö if any, they are named here. Spoilers.
No death the chronicle records has come to this ground ÔÇö or none the maesters have set down.
