Mistwood
A seat deep in the misty rainwood.
The fuller tale
Mistwood sits deep in the rainwood of Cape Wrath, where the sea fogs roll inland through trees old enough to remember the children of the forest, and House Mertyns keeps a seat more heard of than seen ÔÇö which its neighbors will tell you is also true of the castle itself on most mornings. It is a lordship of timber, game and solitude, its banners carrying the white owl of a house that prefers watching to being watched. The tale's wars pull its levies out of the trees like everyone else's ÔÇö storm lords have no neutrality to sell ÔÇö but Mistwood's real allegiance has always been to the wood, the wet, and the long views of a house that measures history in trees rather than kings.
The fallen of this place ÔÇö if any, they are named here. Spoilers.
No death the chronicle records has come to this ground ÔÇö or none the maesters have set down.
