Rain House
A rain-lashed castle at the wet edge of Cape Wrath.
The fuller tale
The Rain House earns its name daily ÔÇö it stands at the wet edge of Cape Wrath where the rainwood meets the sea, and House Wylde has been drying out beside its fires since the Storm Kings' time. It is a seat of timber wealth, hard sailors and harder weather, whose lords have a family tradition of serving crowns as soldiers and officers of the law; the era of the Dance knew a Wylde as the Ironrod, a master of laws so rigid about male succession that he ended up an argument for the other side. In the tale's wars the house follows the storm lords' usual road ÔÇö Renly first, then Stannis, then wherever defeat scatters a region's oaths. The rain, at least, is reliable.
The fallen of this place ÔÇö if any, they are named here. Spoilers.
No death the chronicle records has come to this ground ÔÇö or none the maesters have set down.
