The fuller tale

Silverhill takes its name from the veins in its hill ÔÇö the Serretts mined silver where their neighbors mined gold, which in the Westerlands is practically a vow of humility ÔÇö and flies a peacock in his pride, the westÔÇÖs most self-aware sigil. The house sends its knights to the Lannister vanguards and pays the usual toll of second-rank loyalty: names on the casualty rolls of battles remembered for other men. SilverhillÔÇÖs history is the westÔÇÖs in miniature ÔÇö wealth from the ground, honor on retainer, and the family plumage kept carefully brushed.
