Stonehelm
The Swanns' seat above the Slayne in the Red Watch.
The fuller tale
Stonehelm commands the river Slayne where the stormlands shade into the Dornish Marches, and House Swann has held it ÔÇö and its bridge, and its tolls, and its grudges ÔÇö through a thousand years of border war. Their arms are two swans, black and white on opposing halves, and no sigil in Westeros is more honest: the Swanns are famous for producing sons on both sides of every question, a marcher house's actuarial approach to civil war. The tale bears the pattern out ÔÇö one Swann son wears a Kingsguard's white through three kings' worth of chaos while the family's allegiance at home drifts with the weather ÔÇö and Stonehelm sails on regardless, the way it has outlasted Storm Kings, Dornish spears and dragonlords alike. Some swans are black and some are white, the family likes to observe; all of them are Swanns.
