The Tor
A seaside seat on the Sea of Dorne.
The fuller tale
The Tor stands on the Sea of Dorne where the coast bends green and mild ÔÇö by Dornish standards nearly lush ÔÇö and House Jordayne rules the pleasantest lordship in the principality from a seat named with desert bluntness for the hill it sits on. The Jordaynes are the salty Dornish of the coasts, more traders and readers than raiders; their lord in the tale is a man of letters whose heir is his daughter, in the Dornish way that puts inheritance before chromosomes and scandalizes the other six kingdoms. The Tor's role in the wars is the coastal seat's eternal one ÔÇö ships, grain and watchfulness on the sea approaches to Sunspear ÔÇö performed with the mild superiority of a house whose lands the desert never quite reached.
The fallen of this place ÔÇö if any, they are named here. Spoilers.
No death the chronicle records has come to this ground ÔÇö or none the maesters have set down.
