The Lord of Storm's End finally picked his battle and lost it: the Battle of the Kingsroad broke his stormlanders against the rivermen and the Winter Wolves, and Borros died as he'd lived ÔÇö furious, forward, and badly advised.
The series has not yet reached the battle in which Borros dies; his fate remains ahead of the current seasons.
Fire & Blood has him finally commit his stormlands forces to open battle at what the histories call the Battle of the Kingsroad, where his host breaks against the combined rivermen and northern forces marching south. Borros dies as he lived, by the book's own assessment ÔÇö furious, forward, and badly advised by counselors who never quite managed to slow him down.
