The Umbers’ hall at the edge of the Gift answers to Winterfell, and Winterfell answers to its own clock — so Last Hearth’s spears wait out the worst of the Dance the way the rest of the North does, gathering rather than marching, until Cregan Stark finally judges the war worth the ride south.
