Pyke
A castle of black stone strung across sea-stacks and rope bridges, battered by the Sunset Sea.
The fuller tale
The ironborn owe no dragon a bent knee and remember it every time the mainland is distracted enough not to notice their longships. The Dance is exactly such a distraction: with the crown’s attention consumed by its own succession and the Velaryon fleet fighting for its life in the Gullet, Pyke’s captains slip out to raid where they please, striking hardest at the one western coast too busy with its own civil war to defend itself properly — the Lannister shore beneath Casterly Rock itself. It is not conquest, only opportunity, which is the only kind of politics Pyke has ever needed.
In the first season
Unvisited this season — but Theon Greyjoy has not seen it since the Starks took him as ward and hostage nine years ago.
