The Blackwoods keep the old gods and an older grudge against the Brackens across the river, and the Dance gives that grudge a color to fight under at last: Raventree Hall declares for Rhaenyra and the blacks, the way it declares for almost anything Stone Hedge is against. It is not the war that divides the riverlands so much as the riverlandsÔÇÖ oldest feud finding, in the war, new banners to wear.
