The shattered heart of the Freehold has nothing to say about the Dance of the Dragons except by comparison ÔÇö every dragon that dies over the Gods Eye or Shipbreaker Bay during the war is a fraction of what the Doom took from Valyria in a single, unexplained night, and the smoking peninsulaÔÇÖs demons, if they are real, have far older grievances than a Targaryen succession dispute. The Dance kills the last of WesterosÔÇÖs dragons within a generation; Valyria is the reminder of what killed all the rest at once, and why no one ÔÇö not even the dragonriders burning each other for a chair ÔÇö ever sails close enough to ask.
