Duskendale
An old port town north of the capital, once seat of kings — Ser Donnel of Duskendale wears Kingsguard white at Ashford.
The fuller tale
Duskendale was a kingdom before it was a town — seat of its own line of petty kings in the age before Aegon’s dragons, and House Darklyn has never entirely let the memory go even after centuries of being merely one port among several on the crownlands coast. The town does steady trade as a stop between King’s Landing and the north road, respectable rather than remarkable, and its knightly ambitions in Dunk and Egg’s day run through Ser Donnel of Duskendale, who wears the white cloak of the Kingsguard at Ashford Meadow — proof that whatever crown Duskendale lost, it can still supply the crown that replaced it with capable men.
