The fuller tale

Goldengrove sits among golden-leaved trees in the northern Reach, seat of House Rowan, a family old enough to claim lordship in the region predating even the Gardener kings the Tyrells eventually succeeded — a boast the Rowans have had many centuries to refine and no particular reason to stop making. As liege lords over both Standfast and Coldmoat, Goldengrove is technically the court of last resort for the water dispute that nearly burns Wat's Wood to the ground in the Sworn Sword, though Lady Rohanne and Ser Eustace settle their own account before it ever needs escalating that far — leaving Goldengrove's authority, in this instance, entirely theoretical and entirely sufficient anyway.
