Stone Hedge
The Brackens' seat on the Red Fork ÔÇö kin to Bittersteel, whose mother was a Bracken, and forever feuding with the Blackwoods across the river.
The fuller tale
Stone Hedge answers Raventree Hall from the opposite bank of the Red Fork, seat of House Bracken and the BlackwoodsÔÇÖ hereditary enemy in a feud so old neither side entirely remembers the original grievance, only the centuries of raided cattle and burned fields piled on top of it. The Brackens claim their own kinship to the eraÔÇÖs great and terrible men ÔÇö Aegor Rivers, called Bittersteel, the Blackfyre loyalistsÔÇÖ fiercest commander, is Bracken on his motherÔÇÖs side, a mirror to BloodravenÔÇÖs Blackwood blood that turns the ancient riverlands rivalry into an uncomfortable echo of the larger dynastic war being fought, on and off, across the whole realm.
