The fuller tale

White Harbor is the NorthÔÇÖs only true city, a clean port of pale stone at the mouth of the White Knife, held by House Manderly ÔÇö a family whose ancestors migrated north from the Reach so many centuries ago, fleeing troubles long since forgotten by everyone but their own family history, that no Northman living remembers them as anything but thoroughly, comfortably native. In Dunk and EggÔÇÖs era the city carries on its usual business of trading southern goods for northern timber and furs, a warmer, busier counterpoint to WinterfellÔÇÖs colder formality a few daysÔÇÖ ride inland.
