Cersei springs an elaborate trap meant to catch Tyrion through his mistress Shae, and catches the wrong woman entirely ÔÇö Alayaya, a prostitute recruited to stand in as a decoy, is beaten and humiliated in ShaeÔÇÖs place while the real target stays safely hidden. Tyrion arrives too late to prevent it and finds Alayaya paying, in blood and bruises, for a lie he built to protect someone he loves.

His response is cold and specific: a promise to his sister that the debt will be collected in kind, cruelty answered with cruelty rather than diplomacy. ItÔÇÖs a rare moment of Tyrion abandoning cleverness for something closer to Lannister instinct, and it marks a real hardening in the siblingsÔÇÖ war ÔÇö no longer just political rivals, but two people now actively hunting for ways to hurt each other through the people they care about.
