House Celtigar

An old house of Valyrian descent on Claw Isle in Blackwater Bay, rich, proud, and keepers of a Valyrian axe called Red Rain's cousin.

The fuller tale

The Celtigars came out of Valyria alongside the Targaryens and settled Claw Isle in Blackwater Bay, and they have never let anyone forget the antiquity of their blood. Their red crab sigil flies over a house famous chiefly for its wealth and its love of it ÔÇö Lord Ardrian Celtigar was mocked even by his allies for taxing everything down to the firewood and the crab-pots.

For their Valyrian roots the Celtigars kept treasures from the old Freehold, including a Valyrian steel axe, and they were staunch men of the blacks in the Dance of the Dragons. In the recent wars they declared for Stannis Baratheon and shared in his defeat, an old and grasping house forever backing the losing dragon.
