The fuller tale

House Toland holds Ghost Hill in the green eastern reaches of Dorne, near the coast, and their green dragon biting its own tail commemorates an old tale: a Toland champion who, faced with a stronger foe, fenced and circled and gave ground until the enemy wore himself into the grave. It is a very Dornish way to win.

Lady Nymella Toland stands among the loyal bannermen of Sunspear in the recent histories, one more of the steady southern houses that give Dorne its patient, waiting strength.
