Astride the road from Duskendale to the capital, RosbyÔÇÖs small castle finds itself in the useful position of controlling ground that matters to whichever side currently holds KingÔÇÖs Landing ÔÇö its lords, like most crownlands houses this close to the throne, declare for whoever is sitting on it at the time rather than risk their own walls for a claim they cannot personally enforce.

That proximity cuts both ways: Rosby is near enough to the capital to be swept up in every change of regime the Dance produces, and far enough from any dragonÔÇÖs protection to have no real choice but to accept each new kingÔÇÖs messenger with a straight face and a quick oath.
