Dunk I Two years on: Dunk and Egg serve old Ser Eustace Osgrey of Standfast as sworn swords through a drought that has burned the Reach brown. Riding home with the brown-shielded Ser Bennis, they find the Chequy Water dammed ÔÇö the stream stolen by the Red Widow of Coldmoat. Dunk X Dunk wakes at Coldmoat, leeched and alive. Peace is made the old way: Ser Eustace Osgrey weds Lady Rohanne Webber, stream and honor mended in a sept. And the Red Widow pays a hedge knight's fee with a kiss ÔÇö and keeps a lock of his hair in her book of debts before Dunk and Egg take the road again.

Peter Mullan was cast as Ser Eustace Osgrey in March 2026 for the showÔÇÖs second season, which will adapt The Sworn Sword ÔÇö casting widely praised in early coverage for matching the characterÔÇÖs blend of faded grandeur and genuine pathos. As of this writing that season has not yet aired, so there is no performance yet to weigh against the page, but MullanÔÇÖs reputation for finding dignity in wounded, stubborn men suggests the production understands exactly what kind of actor this particular role requires.
