Young Griff does not exist in the show ÔÇö no swap in the Sack, no boat, no invasion ÔÇö and the name Aegon Targaryen was reassigned to the adaptationÔÇÖs own reveal: Jon SnowÔÇÖs true name in the seventh-season parentage twist, an economy that let one Aegon do the narrative work of two. The consequences of the cut run deep: the showÔÇÖs Varys becomes a simple Targaryen loyalist rather than the architect of a rival claimant; the Golden Company arrives late, fights for Cersei, and dies in a morning; and Daenerys reaches Westeros uncontested by the second dragon whose existence, in the books, reshapes her entire approach.
