Their story
Jhogo is the whip: the youngest of the three riders of Daenerys’s khas whom the tale bothers to name, sixteen when the story starts, and the one whose weapon of choice — the long Dothraki lash — becomes his signature the way Aggo’s bow is his. He teaches the khaleesi to ride in the books’ early going, graduates from guard to friend, and stays when staying costs everything: after Drogo’s fall, when the khalasar melts away to stronger khals, Jhogo is one of the handful who remain beside a widow whose only assets are three eggs and an idea.
Daenerys makes him a ko and offers him a bloodrider’s place, and the books let him voice the custom’s objection — blood of my blood, he says, but to a woman? — before serving her precisely as though the objection had never existed. He rides through her whole published arc: the red waste, Qarth, the boarding of the slavers’ ships, the wars of Slaver’s Bay, trusted with errands of honor and errands of blood alike. When the peace of Meereen requires hostages of rank, Jhogo is among those the queen must hand to the Yunkish camps — a whip surrendered as surety — and the books’ last movement leaves him there as the peace collapses, one more debt the queen’s enemies will be made to answer for.
Like his brothers of the khas he is a small character bearing a large load: the tale’s evidence that the Dothraki could follow Daenerys as a person rather than a prize. The show, having thinned the khas to almost nothing, never really used him; the books never stopped.
How it ends for them
The chronicle records no death for this soul — they are living when the tale leaves them, or their ending is a page the maesters have yet to turn.

Where the page and the screen part
Jhogo is effectively a book character. The show gave his name a face only glancingly in the first season before merging the khas into its background Dothraki; his book substance — the whip, the ko’s rank, the bloodrider oath sworn across a gender line custom forbade, and his surrender to the Yunkai’i as a hostage of the Meereen peace — has no screen counterpart at all. In the published novels he is alive, a hostage in the slavers’ camps as the siege turns to war, and his recovery is one of the open debts The Winds of Winter is expected to collect. Readers who want to know what the show lost in flattening the Dothraki usually point first at the three kos: Rakharo killed early, Aggo ignored, Jhogo never even attempted.
