How it ends for them
The chronicle records no death for this soul ÔÇö they are living when the tale leaves them, or their ending is a page the maesters have yet to turn.

Where the page and the screen part
The show cut him and split the inheritance. Eastwatch-by-the-Sea survives on screen ÔÇö handed to Tormund to garrison, and demolished by the ice dragon ÔÇö but its foul-mouthed commander does not, and his Hardhome mission is transferred wholesale to Jon Snow and Tormund so the audience can sail with it; Karsi and the massacre episode occupy the space the books fill with PykeÔÇÖs letters. The election farce with Ser Denys is likewise gone, folded into a quicker show of hands. Book-readers keep a wary eye on his story: as the published saga stands he is alive ÔÇö or at least unaccounted for ÔÇö somewhere north of the Wall at Hardhome, at the end of a paper trail that stops mid-plea. The Watch has heard nothing since, and neither have we.
